Adrionet Network

The BPW AdrionNet is the largest network of BPW in the Adriatic-Ionian territory. It is geographically identical to EUSAIR. Alida Perkov, the President of BPW Pola and the founder of BPW AdrionNet, suggested the idea of a BPW AdrionNet Network during the BPW European Congress in Zurich in 2016. The ECC BPW Europe agreed to support the network as a BPW Project. The members were: BPW Pola, BPW Rijeka, BPW Thessaloniki, BPW Athens, BPW Italy.In 2025, the network was implemented with BPW Tirana (Albania), BPW Celje (Slovenia), BPW Arad (Romania) and BPW Chișinău (Moldova).

Objectives and Activities

BPW AdrionNet members are BPW clubs and federations in the Adriatic-Ionian territory and not only.

The BPW AdrionNet promotes the following objectivies:

Business and professional lobbying;
Promoting the products and services of women entrepreneurs;
Interregional cultural promotion;
Business and ICT workshops.
Cooperation and coordination with the Adriatic-Ionian initiatives.
Participation in EU project funding

The Activities
Thematic forums combined with business meetings;
Networking with the business and political world (e.g. the Chamber of Commerce);
Collaboration with regional institutions;
Establishing new clubs within AdrionNet;
Implementation of joint projects.

History

2016 ECC BPW Europe approved the regional network BPW AdrionNet as BPW Project during the BPW European Congress in Zurich.
2017 BPW AdrionNet was presented in Bagheria (Italy) on March 30th; BPW AdrionNet was presented in Pula (Croatia) on June 1st; BPW AdrionNet was launched in Bari (Italy) on September 27th; The MoU between BPW Danube Net and BPW AdrionNet was signed in Vienna during the 11th Forum BPW Danube Net on November 17th.
2018 The first BPW AdrionNet Forum took place in Athens.
2019 The second BPW AdrionNet Forum took place at the University of Sannio in Benevento, Italy.
2020 The third BPW AdrionNet Hybrid Forum took place in Pola.
2021 The fourth BPW AdrionNet Hybrid Forum took place in Palermo, Sicily.
2022-2024 Organised virtual meetings and awareness campaign to increase the number of BPW AdrionNet member countries
2025 BPW AdrionNet was implemented in January with BPW Tirana (Albania), BPW Celje (Slovenia), BPW Chișinău (Moldova) and BPW Arad (Romania).

AdrionNet Network Forums

The first Forum BPW AdrionNet was held in Athens, Greece on Friday, 19 October 2018 under the auspices of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and was hosted by the President of BPW Athens, Ioanna Lagoumidou. The second Forum BPW AdrionNet was held in Benevento, Italy, on 21 March 2019 under the auspices of the University of Sannio, and was hosted by the FIDAPA BPW Italy. The forum formed part of the Women in Business, Female Entrepreneurs and European Economic Development event, which was held as part of the Kinetes programme. https://www.kinetes.com/uploads/6/8/7/0/68706149/programma_winb.pdf

The third Forum BPW Adriatic Network took place in Pula on 2 October 2020, under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Croatia and the Croatian Parliament. It was organized by the BPW Pula team. Due to the pandemic, this was the first time that the forum had been held in a hybrid format.

The fourth Forum BPW AdrionNet took place in Palermo, Italy, on 24 September 2021. It was organized by Alida Perkov, the Chair of BPW AdrionNet, and BPW Italy, and coordinated by Giuseppina Seidita, Vice President Membership BPWI and Vice Chair of BPW AdrionNet. This event, which took place under the motto ‘Encouragement and Promotion of Women Entrepreneurship in the Adriatic-Ionian Region’, allowed BPW Italy to showcase the valuable work of its members to women from different European countries who were virtually connected to the AdrionNet network. The fifth Forum BPW AdrionNet, with the theme: ‘Cultural tourism, gender equality and innovation: Opportunities for an inclusive future in the Adriatic–Ionian area’, took place in Sicily from 16 to 19 October 2025.
