Network

The Nordic Network, established on May 27, 2024, under the initiative of Regional Coordinator Anu Viks, unites countries from Northern part of Europe to form a Network including – Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland. The Network aims to promote the interests of business and professional women within these countries through collaboration and shared initiatives.

Key Areas of Focus

Presidents from these countries first met online for the purpose of establishing the network inside BPW Europe. The main goal for the work of the Network were established at the meeting on 27 May 2024 – promoting interests of business and professional women in the Nordic Network countries. Members of the Nordic Network are the BPW Federations and associated Clubs in these countries. Nordic Network F2F meetings are going to be held every two years. First F2F meeting was in September 2024 in Helsinki Finland, the next F2F meeting will take place in Poland in 2026.

Meetings

The first F2F meeting of the took place on 27-28 September in Helsinki Finland. The Seminar organized by BPW Finland took place in the rooms of Antti and Jenny Wihuri Foundation on Kalliolinnantie. The main objective of the Seminar was to officially launch the Nordic Network and give the kick-off to the Green and Sustainable Working Group Green Ambassadors project. The call for BPW Europe members to nominate the Green Ambassadors in their countries went out by the Chair of the Working Group Siiri Puttonen. The main speaker of the Seminar was scientist Kai Klein from BPW Estonia on the subject “Plastic in our environment “. This Seminar concentrated of the Sustainable businesses in Estonia and Finland. Professor of Vaasa University Taina Tukiainen introduced the work of and environmentally sustainable hotel in the Eastern part of Finland. BPW Estonia is carrying out the entrepreneurship project to encourage women to open and develop green and sustainable businesses.
